Ready... Set... Read!

Ready… Set… Let's Read!  is a initiative that focuses on students individual strengths, empowering them to improve their literacy skills.  We us‍‍‍e fun and engaging ways to help young readers discover the joy of reading.

One initiative we sponsor is a half day, one week long literacy camp. This camp is for kindergarten through third grader students who are reading below grade level and struggling to make the jump from oral to written language.

In addition to camp we host book signings and readings for children and youth.

Summer Feeding

As a summer feeding service site, we ensure that children from low-income families continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.  We are able to serve breakfast and lunch to children in the community all summer through our partnership with Francis Burns United Methodist Church. There is no fee for children under 18 years of age.

What We Do‍‍‍

Our facility has become a family based community hub for the surrounding areas.  The Columbia Bethlehem Community Center strives to draw families together to promote positive community interaction.

Food Share

We are partnered with FoodShare, who "believe access to fresh, affordable food should not be limited by where you live or how much you make. That's why we're working to make it easier for families in our state to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. Join us in the FoodShare South Carolina movement to ensure fresh, healthy food access for all."
